A phobia is an irrational fear of an object or situation and no amount of reasoning changes your reaction to the situation or object of your phobia.

Common phobias include:

  • Arachnophobia – Fear of spiders

  • Ophidiophobia – Fear of snakes

  • Acrophobia – Fear of heights

  • Agoraphobia – Fear of open or crowded spaces

  • Cynophobia - Fear of dogs

  • Aerophobia – Fear of flying

  • Glossophobia - Fear of public speaking
