Its World Kindness Day today, a day to commit to acts of kindness - remember to be kind to yourself as well, this is especially important if you suffer with low self-esteem. We can be so quick to listen to our inner critical voice, the one that puts us down and feeds our fears of not being good enough but we are much less inclined to retaliate with an inner positive voice. Everyone is made of strength and struggle, feelings of personal inadequacy are something that everyone experiences, but when we have low self-esteem, we feel that everyone is so much better than us and our thoughts are 'it's only me who is not good enough'. Self-kindness is about being warm and understanding to ourselves when we suffer, fail or feel inadequate, rather than ignoring our pain or beating ourselves up with self-criticism.
